this weekend my friend katy came to visit. she braved brutal summer road construction and drove all the way from minnesota. we did our best to show her the sweet things our little town has to offer, to persuade her to make ann arbor an annual visit. in the end, i think we had the most fun cooking and hanging out in the garden, talking about the same things we’ve been talking about since we were 13 – boys, bikes, and pudding pops. i usually try to refrain from posting about cold weather fashion before summer, but in the case of thom dolan’s fall 2011 collection, i just couldn’t resist. i’m sweating just looking at these wool skirts, but love the mix of color and pattern in every single piece.
i wish every weekend could be like the last couple of days, with outdoor concerts, backyard bbqs, summer blockbusters, and homemade rhubarb sauce. everywhere i went, i took this adorable ikat bag that my sister sent me in the mail last week. . . she made it! the photos really don’t do it justice, with stitched leather, snaps, and a million inside pockets. i hope you are all enjoying a little sunshine right now!
