road trip
artist lily stockman currently lives and works in joshual tree, california. this summer, she is taking her studio on the road and driving cross-country with her husband, their two dogs, and a restored 13-foot 1978 scamp trailer, documenting the american landscape coast-to-coast through a series of new paintings. she will be posting updates along the way on her studio blog. to me, this sounds like the most amazing way to spend a summer. my parents just bought a scamp... i wonder if they would notice if it disappeared for a few months?

weekend pieces
on sunday, some lovely ladies came over and we spent the afternoon making jam. we were all amateurs, so our attempt at making apricot/peach lavender jam and strawberry/lemon marmalade was definitely experimental. i piled the apricot jam on my peanut butter toast this morning—it was delicious—but as far as the marmalade goes… i'm still waiting for it to magically thicken every time i tip the jar. overall, i think 1 out of 2 isn't bad for our first try. after all the jars were sterilized and sealed we hung out in the garden, margarita in hand, eating our tasty creations.

pretty pieces
design team hunter bell and jennifer dixon showcase their spring collection for clothing line hunter dixon on the early morning streets and alleyways of new york's soho/nolita area. the brightly colored shop doors and graffitied walls make a perfect backdrop for the collection's feminine prints, lovely silk tops, and tailored skirts and dresses.
